As many residents have reported to us, overflowing bins have been an issue over the last few weeks and we have reported it and investigated why this is an issue again.
When we raised it with Crest Nicholson they did come out the next day and clear the bins for which we are grateful in the hot weather we have had this month.
The current issues seem to be the result of a transfer of responsibilities for emptying some bins from Crest Nicholson to the management company agent, Preim. The bins responsibility was omitted, however, that has been rectified now. Whilst Preim is taking responsibility for some areas, the majority of the village is still being taken care of by Crest Nicholson.
Cllr Turner-Wilkes has been investigating the situation further as residents are still reporting this is an issue. She has talked with both Preim and Crest this week and will be monitoring the situation.
Preim tells us their emptying schedule will be fortnightly for the dog waste bins. They are considering installing another bin in a particularly busy spot to ensure there is capacity. Regarding main litter bins, these should be emptied weekly going forward.
Councillors have their routine business meeting with Crest Nicholson on Monday (5th Sept), so this situation will also be reviewed together at that meeting.

Footnote: Just to note that the Parish Council is still attempting to have local control over the maintenance of the village. It may have been quiet in our communications over the last few months, however, this is no indication of a lack of activity. Quite the opposite! We have asked the District Council to assist, we are in direct contact with Crest Nicholson management, and meanwhile, we are still part of the adoption negotiations for Phase 1 of the village. Nothing more to report at the moment, however, we hope to update you more fully soon.
