Parish Council Grant Application for £4,736 approved!
The new funding will enable the Parish Council to improve and expand communications with our residents, including replacing the old noticeboards around the village.
The National Lottery Community Fund in particular has been very supportive of Hunts Grove this year as they also provided funding towards our platinum jubilee events earlier in the year.
Big Ideas For Hunts Grove
Your Parish Council works hard to secure extra funding for projects that benefit the village and residents. This year alone, we have had successful grant applications from the National Lottery Community Fund, Arts Council, Gloucestershire Community Foundation, Urbaser Community Fund, Gloucestershire County Council, and Stroud District Council.
These grants have enabled us to do much more for the community than our core budget allows, for example including the two new public defibrillators announced last month and the events we hosted for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee earlier this year.
More Good News To Come
The Parish Council has more projects in the pipeline and additional funding support that has been confirmed by Crest Nicholson and Community Infrastructure Levy funding. We will report further on these successes in the coming weeks.
In the meantime, we are looking at projects related to the provision of youth services and engagement for Hunts Grove and hopefully hold more fun community events in 2023 that have been so well received this year.
One Final Note
As I am writing this update I am reminded of the Community Governance Review that led to the formation of this Parish Council. Two major themes came back from residents, (1) that the Parish Council should be formed to replace the controversial management company in order to create “One Hunts Grove”, fair for all, and (2) that taxes collected from Hunts Grove should be spent in Hunts Grove, not elsewhere as previously.
Our success in grant funding this year shows that the new Parish Council not only manages the local element of council tax funds from the community but is also a fantastic catalyst to attract grant funding investment.
Huge thanks to all our funding supporters, plus the team that worked so hard on the applications, Cllr Meecham, Cllr Turner-Wilkes, Cllr Hampson, Cllr Thorne, and our incredible Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer Julie Shirley.
Merry Christmas Folks!
