Planning Applications
Read below for our monthly planning tracker and links to planning applications.
This is not intended to be a complete and up-to-date listing, it is maintained on a best-endeavours basis. Please always refer to the Stroud District Council Planning Portal for current and historic applications.
The Parish Council is a statutory consultee on all planning applications within its boundaries. By default, it is our policy to review all applications, appeals, discharge of conditions, and planning enforcement actions. Usually, an assessment will go to a meeting of the full council as a draft consultation response, providing an opportunity for all councillors to contribute to the final response to the planning department. In rare cases, lack of resources or limited consultation periods may necessitate a different approach.
Engagement of residents on planning applications: The Parish Council encourages all residents to participate in the planning process by raising any comments or concerns with councillors that may influence the Parish Council consultation response. In addition, residents may also register their own comments of support or objection by entering the application number into the Planning Portal website within the limited consultation window.
Planning applications are usually assessed and decided by a planning officer at Stroud District Council. The Parish Council has powers to "call in" an application to the Stroud District Council Development Control Committee in cases where an application attracts considerable public interest or where the Parish Council feels an application should be decided by a committee of district councillors.
